Ubuntu (10.10) LCD brightness adjustment on start or reboot

I recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 onto a ASUS N61J laptop and everything works great except one thing — the LCD screen is always at its brightest level when connected to AC, and I have to lower it down by pressing Fn + F5 multiple times and once the computer is rebooted, the same step has to be done over and over. It turns out Ubuntu provides a quite straightforward solution to address this problem:
System -> Power Management -> On AC Power -> Adjust “Set display brightness to” slider to the level desired -> Make default

That’s it.
